Barry Spitzer Soccer Day Camp focuses on fundamental skill development through individualized soccer instruction. Campers learn proper techniques through fun exercises and games precisely designed for young players. They are encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace under the diligent guidance of our professional staff. The goal of Barry Spitzer Soccer Day Camp is to create a safe and fun environment for young players to learn the love of the game.

The U5-U8 Rec Soccer Program provides young and new players ages 4-7 an opportunity to learn the game of soccer. Meeting twice a week, players will learn soccer fundamentals and team play in a fun and safe environment. Practices and games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Games are intramural and will be played within the Tuscaloosa United Soccer League at two locations for your convenience. The U5-U8 age group plays 4v4.

This program is coed and led by volunteer coaches. The number of children who register, their ages and gender will determine the teams and brackets. We make every effort to ensure all teams have equal numbers, ages and gender. All practice times and game times are the same for every team, with few exceptions. We are not able to honor special requests.


Ages 4-7 years old

U5 - Born between 1/1/2019 and 12/31/2019
U6 - Born between 1/1/2018 and 12/31/2018
U7 - Born between 1/1/2017 and 12/31/2017
U8 - Born between 1/1/2016 and 12/31/2016

The U9-U12 Rec Soccer Program provides young and new players age 8-11 an opportunity to learn soccer skills and team play. Practicing twice a week, players will learn soccer fundamentals in a fun and safe environment. Practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Most games will be played on Saturday morning or Thursday evenings. Game are intramural and will be played within the Tuscaloosa United Soccer League at Sokol North. The U9-U10 age group plays 7v7 and the U11-U12 age group plays 9v9.

This program is led by volunteer coaches. The number of children who register, their age and their gender determine the teams and brackets. We make every effort to ensure all teams are equal in number of players, ages and genders. Our objective is to have a minimum of 6 teams in any bracket. We reserve the right to change the format due to numbers, age, or gender.
Depending on the number of players registered, it may be determined that an age group will be coed. All practice times and game times are the same for every team, with few exceptions. We are not able to honor special requests.
